Exercise is one of the most important part of our program. If you like exercise then you can go for regular free hand or weight exercises. But it is more likely that you don't like exercise. I will not suggest you to spend many hours of exercise. It actually depends on you. If you do spend hours on exercise, certainly you will lose fat faster. So I will suggest you few exercise options. Even if you don't like exercise, I would expect that you will do some abs crunches 3/4 days a week and go for long walk for four or five days a week. When you do exercise it charges up your metabolism rate, not just during your exercise time, even after you finish exercise and do your regular jobs, metabolism remains high. So spending some time on exercise will ultimately pay off.
Now the question is what type of exercise will you go for. You will see in many sites they offer different exercises. They will ask you to do abdominal exercises, like abs crunch, Pilates, running, walking, weight training, and many more thing. Actually you don't need to do everything. I am also proving information on many different exercises. But you will select from all of these just few. You can select abs crunch and walking, or Pilates or running. The more exercise you do is better, better this is very understandable that you cannot spend that much time time on exercise, you would like to but eventually you will not. So please first read all the pages, then decide which of them you can match in your weekly schedule.
Tips on which exercise you should follow
If you like walking or running then I would suggest you to follow
long slow distance walk, it is a very effective way to lose fat from all over the body. Slow long distance walk is much more effective than running. Read more from my Slow Distance Walk page.
Abdomen exercises are useful to tone the stomach. If you have lot of fat on around your waist line,
abdomen exercises will not help much. You have spend some time first to reduce fat from body. Read my food pages and calorie pages. Once you have reached to a better shape you may start abdomen exercises. Whoever says that you will reduce all the fat from your waistline using those fancy machines shows in TV and website, are not telling the truth. If you are really really overweight, none of them will work. you have to eat less and follow some food guide line. These abs workouts will only work, when you are slightly overweight and fats are mainly stored around your stomach.
Abs crunch are one of best abdomen exercises. There are many type of abs crunch. Some are difficult like reverse crunch, some are comparatively easy. Find out which one suitable for you, then try to do as much you can each day. If you are too busy, try to perform at least 10/15 minutes.
If you like to go for yoga type of exercise, read my page on Pilates. Pilates help to have a full control over the body. It focuses on strengthening muscles and improving the posture of the body. There are many different Pilates. I only listed the ones which work specifically for abdomen. If you are planning to work on Pilates, maybe you can still do at least some of the crunches. If you can't spend much time, then do either Pilates or crunches.
Exercise alone can help to flatten stomach?
If you do really like exercises and are planning to spend a good amount of time on exercises, you are welcome. But I would like to remind you, exercise alone is not sufficient to lose fat. However repetitions you do on abs crunches, you will not lose much fat, until and unless you are careful on the calorie balance. Eating a lot and then doing extra 50 crunches will not work. Actually crunches will help more on toning and shaping the stomach. But if you have fats all over the body, the toning the stomach will not be of much help. So exercise with a balanced food habit will only help you to reach your goal.
